Clyde
Home of the world's largest manufacturing facility of washing machines, Clyde's Whirlpool Division produces nearly 20,000 washing machines daily. The community also supports world-class companies such as Wollin Products, Inc., L. F. Fultz, Spader Distribution Center and Evergreen. A recent addition to Clyde is The Gerstenslager Co., a division of Worthington Industries, Inc., an automotive stamping manufacturer.
Located on U.S. 20, Clyde is only 10 minutes from Interstate 80/90. Norfolk and Southern provides rail service and Lake Erie's close proximity offers a number of available ports.
Clyde residents enjoy a high standard of living with an excellent school system, low crime rate, and well-developed infrastructure.
Historical figures from Clyde include General James Birdseye McPherson, a Civil War Hero, and Sherwood Anderson who wrote about life in this small town in his book, "Winesburg, Ohio."
