What is Business Retention and Expansion (R&E)?
 
Business retention and expansion, or R&E, as it is often called, is considered by many communities to be the cornerstone of their economic development plan. And it should be. Existing businesses provide jobs for local residents and tax revenue for the community. R&E strategy focuses on satisfying the needs of businesses already in the community, encouraging them to stay (retain them) or grow (expand).
