Fisher & Paykel's product sales in the USA triggered a decision to
establish a manufacturing presence in North America a comprehensive
search began for a suitable location. In addition to the key competitive
advantages of freight and labor costs offered in the region, the SCEDC
provided us with a 'one-stop shop' for the many planning and
implementation requirements of a project of this magnitude.
Kay Reiter and her team at SCEDC brokered competitive incentive packages
at both State and City level, provided invaluable regulatory and
compliance advice and navigated an unerring course through the many
challenges of setting up a greenfield business in a new country.
Sandusky is a 'Can-do' County in a 'Can-do' State. The project, from
making the original decision to producing the first product, was
completed in an incredibly short period of 12 months and this is,
without doubt, a testament to the immense contribution of the SCEDC." |
